Structure and Flow – Productivity Tip for your Time Management Revolution

Here’s another productivity tip for your time management revolution.

Have you ever had one of those days where your schedule just goes out the window? How do we recover when someone or something causes a glitch in our plans?

It’s really important that we have some kind of foundational structure for each work day. So in other words, you know what your priorities are and you have an idea of how long each one of those tasks will take. However, we can’t be so structured that if somebody throws a wrench into our system, our brain just goes haywire. We also need to have some flow. On the other hand, we can’t have so much flow that we just wake up in the morning and say, “Yeah man, I’ll just do whatever today.”

We need to find that balance of having structure and having time blocks. That way we’ll know which tasks we need to work on and for how long. But by also having flow, meaning we can flip-flop those time blocks as necessary, we can move our time blocks around when something doesn’t go as planned. So we may not get things done in the order that we thought we would, but we still have created enough time in our schedule to get those high priority tasks done.

When you’re able to balance structure and flow, you’ll be able to make better decisions about how you use your time.

Since everyone has different learning styles, below are two different delivery methods to help you learn these productivity tools.
