Our Secret Hot Chocolate Recipe
I hope you enjoy some relaxation during this holiday season. One of our favorite ways to unwind is to curl up on the couch and enjoy a mug of our favorite hot chocolate recipe. My husband whips up a mean batch. When he serves it up he says, “Eight euros, please!”
I thought you might like to try out his secret hot chocolate recipe.
8 Euro Hot Chocolate
Ingredients for two large mugs:
Your favorite hot chocolate mix (ours is Silly Cow Farms)
24 oz milk
1/8 tsp Cinnamon
1/8 tsp Nutmeg
1/8 tsp Vanilla
Pinch Cayenne
2 shots Bailey’s Original Irish Cream
Heat the milk for four minutes in a pot on the stove or in a container in your microwave. We use a 32 oz Pyrex measuring cup. Keep an eye on your milk so that it doesn’t boil over.
Add your favorite hot chocolate mix. Determine the amount by following the instructions on the container. We add an extra tablespoon per mug. (There are no rules against that. Besides, can you ever go wrong with extra chocolate?)
Stir well with a whisk or fork to break up the clumps.
Heat for another four minutes. Again, keep an eye on the container to make sure it doesn’t boil over.
Carefully pour the hot chocolate into two mugs.
Add one shot of Bailey’s Original Irish Cream to each mug.
Stir.
Relax and enjoy.
The next evening, make any spice adjustments as necessary.
