Valentine’s Day Movies

I’m not a hugely romantic person, but I do enjoy watching a smart RomCom and occasionally wipe away a few tears after viewing a tug-at-your-heart romantic movie. When asked what my favorite Valentine’s Day movie was, I initially couldn’t think of one because I usually don’t set out to watch one.

But then I realized that I have watched a number of movies about love. For holiday movies, I started a list I can add onto each year. I decided to do the same for Valentine’s Day movies:

50 First Dates (2004) – Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler

Always Be My Maybe (2019) – Ali Wong and Randall Park

Crazy Rich Asians (2018) – Constance Wu, Henry Golding, Michelle Yeoh, Awkafina

Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011) – Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling, Julianne Moore, Steve Carell

Dirty Dancing (1987) – Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze

Ghost (1990) – Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, Whoopi Goldberg

La La Land (2016) – Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling

Midnight in Paris (2011) – Owen Wilson, Marie Cotillard and a slew of very recognizable actors!

Moonstruck (1988) – Cher and Nicolas Cage

Moulin Rouge (2001) – Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman

Pretty Woman (1990) – Julia Roberts and Richard Gere

Punch Drunk Love (2002) – Adam Sandler and Emily Watson

Queen & Slim (2019) – Daniel Kaluuya and Jodie Turner-Smith

Roman Holiday (1953) – Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck

Say Anything (1989) – John Cusack and Ione Skye

Somebody I Used to Know (2023) – Alison Brie and Jay Ellis

Spanglish (2004) – Adam Sandler and Paz Vega

The Big Sick (2017) – Kumail Nanjiani and Zoe Kazan

The Hundred-Foot Journey (2014) – Manish Dayal and Charlotte Le Bon

The Princess Bride (1987) – Cary Elwes and Robin Wright
