Emilia-Romagna, Italy - 2024 - Details

In Italy

Transportation during our adventure: The most difficult part of traveling in this region is figuring out transportation. Buses can have spotty schedules or require multiple transfers to reach some of the towns. Navigating roads and finding parking are no easy tasks. Italy also has one of the strictest drunk driving laws in the world. All of these worries can be brushed aside because we will travel by train between towns and have professional drivers for our day trip adventures!

Accommodation: The next most challenging piece of logistics in this area is finding a place to stay that has air conditioning and en suite bathrooms. Done! We’ll be sleeping in 3- and 4-star accommodations. Keep in mind, though, we will be staying in centuries-old structures, so wifi will be quite spotty, and there will not be any concierges to serve you. However, your surroundings will more than make up for that. You’ll receive our accommodations list approximately three months before departure. Prices are based on double occupancy.

Meals: Whether you’re a foodie or want to be one, you’ll have plenty of chances to enjoy the delectable foods of the region. After all, that’s the purpose of this journey! All breakfasts are included. Lunches and dinners or evening nourishment are included where noted on the itinerary. We opted not to arrange or pre-reserve every single meal so that you would have the chance to experiment with grazing or feasting – whichever you prefer – on your own terms.  When we have group meals, every effort will be made to accommodate those with dietary requests, but it's definitely not a guarantee. Vegetarian will be easier to accommodate most (but not all) the time; vegan and gluten-free will be very difficult to accommodate. (FYI - True Italian cooking uses 00 flour, which is less processed and naturally lower in gluten than our American flours.) If you have a food allergy, please be sure to submit your travel questionnaire (you'll receive a link to this approximately four months before departure) so we can work with our local hosts to provide what you need.

Small Group Size: In order to avoid feeling like we’re part of a cattle call tourist trap, our group will be limited to a maximum of 8 people. Space is first come, first served – and not official until you receive a confirmation email that your deposit has been received.

Pre-Italy

You’ll receive a combination of videos, articles and checklists that will help you prepare in both your work life and personal life for this wonderful journey. Time Management Fixer Helene Segura of LivingOrder® San Antonio will give you the guidance to become more efficient with your time, prepare you to leave work behind for a relaxing vacation and share tips for planning for an overseas trip.

Your Pre-Italy assistance will include:

*private phone coaching with Helene to give you extra assistance with any time- or organization-related challenges you’re experiencing or to help you with trip planning questions

*monthly guidance for preparing to leave behind work and home for a few weeks (starts January 2024)

*bookItaly for Food Lovers

*webinar series Working Smarter, Not Longer, available 24/7 in your digital library

*live webinar with Helene to check-in with you on your progress

*checklists for trip planning and packing

With all of these resources, you’ll be ready to meet us on June 17, 2024, in Bologna, Italy, to start our Emilia-Romagna Food Adventure!

Following our rest and relaxation, you’ll receive a digital copy of photos from our adventure, as well as a photo book keepsake.

Good to know:

*Once you pay your deposit, the trip price at which you booked is guaranteed, even if the trip price later increases due to fluctuating charges in Italy.

*Only 1 room with separate beds (“roommate style”) is available. The rest have a shared bed. If you are traveling solo and would like to share a room, we will do our best to match you with a same-gender roommate, but there is no guarantee of finding a match. Requests for room types will be taken in the order that deposits are received.

*A single supplement will be due if traveling solo, without a roommate.

*Once the 8 spaces are filled, a waiting list will begin. You will be notified by us if a spot opens up.

*Anyone cancelling after January 4, 2024, will still receive all Virtual Seminar / Pre-Italy information and resources.

*Anyone securing a spot after the start of the Virtual Seminar in spring 2024 will still receive all seminar information and resources.

*While you will be traveling with a group, you'll be an independent traveler with the benefit of accommodations and transportation reservations taken care of for you. There will not be a full time guide traveling with us.

*Each participant is responsible for arriving in Bologna, Italy, at the pick-up location by 11:00 A.M. local time on Monday, June 17, 2024, as well as transportation for departing after our excursion ends at the drop-off location. Airfare is not included.
