Worth Savoring: 1862 Margarita Recipe & Life Enjoyment
One of the benefits of improving your time management is that you have more time to do things you enjoy.
One of the things that I enjoy is sipping on an 1862 Margarita, so I’d like to share that recipe with you today. See below for the written version.
If you want to watch my “how to make an 1862 margarita” video, you can do that here:
Ingredients for one 1862 margarita:
2 ounces Tequila Blanco
.5 ounces Elderflower Liqueur
.75 ounces fresh squeezed lime juice
Dash of simple syrup, agave or honey
For glass rim: salt, Tajin or your favorite savory rimmer (optional)
Directions:
Select a cocktail glass.
If you want your glass rimmed, now is the time.
Put at least a ½ cup of ice into your glass.
Pour ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice.
Shake well at least six times. (Ten works for us.)
Pour through a strainer into your glass with ice.
Notes:
Lime juice – It really does make a difference to use fresh lime juice. If you can’t run to the grocery store, OK, use that bottled stuff in your fridge. But truly, you must eventually make this with fresh squeezed!
Elderflower – We’ve tried different kinds, and St~Germain is our favorite.
Glass – If you have a margarita or martini glass, that’s super. But really, with a margarita this delicious, any sipping glass will do. If you’re required to use plastic because you’re by a pool, go for the proper plastic cocktail cups. I love Solo Cups, but not for this.
Rimmer – We’ve never tried this with sugar, only salt or Tajin. Feel free to experiment.
Salud!
