Podcast Interview - WE'RE ON HIATUS

Note: While we've enjoyed learning from our guests, we've made the difficult decision to end guest interviews for our podcast.

If you (or the guest you're pitching) meet the guest criteria below, feel free to check this page in 6 months to see if we've restarted.

What is the purpose of our Time Management Revolution podcast?

I want to bring peace and balance to people’s lives. As the name of my podcast implies, I do this through teaching time management and mind management strategies. Mind management includes having knowledge about various topics and skills (personal - physical health, mental health, communication, finances, home maintenance, meal planning and prep; professional – planning, communication, delegation, analysis, problem-solving) and/or the resources to gain that knowledge when a situation deems it necessary. For example, if you share cyber security tips that individuals or department leaders can implement, this can help listeners/viewers prevent the loss of time and money.

Who are our viewers/listeners?

*Individual employees who struggle with personal efficiency or who feel that small tweaks can help them have more control over their time

*Emerging leaders who are not experienced with balancing their own workload and that of their new leadership position

*Team leaders who experience challenges finding the time to plan, prepare, communicate well, or hold 1:1’s with their direct reports

*Experienced leaders who can’t find the time to locate and develop team members

*Entrepreneurs who are "all in" on their business, but just can’t put all of the pieces of the puzzle together to create streamlined processes

*People who want more out of life than just work and might be teetering on burnout

What are characteristics of a great podcast guest?

(aka Guest Criteria)

*You are a subject matter expert. You have a degree or certification in the subject matter you'll discuss. You study, research and teach this subject. For example, you might enjoy speaking about ADHD "hacks" you personally use, but are you a coach, consultant, psychologist, counselor, etc., who specializes in this subject?

*You have a desire to bring peace, success, joy (enter a positive emotion or outcome here) to others through whatever your skill or knowledge is.

*You’re willing to share personal as well as professional stories or examples.

*You’re able to explain to listeners how they’ll gain back time, find peace and/or reach performance goals by applying the strategies or knowledge you’ll share.

*You don’t sell. For example, if nearly every answer you give mentions “in my book” or "in my course" or "our service," etc., that’s a huge turnoff to our viewers and listeners. Can you mention your book, service or product? Sure. But if it’s done more than a couple of times, the number of completed listens drops off considerably, as does any chance of them clicking on your links that we’ll provide.

*You have at least 500 followers on each of at least two of the following platforms: LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter.

*You agree to independently share, comment on, and re-share our postings of our interview on all of your platforms.

What are examples of questions you’ll be asked?

(Our podcast is only 30 minutes, so not all of these questions will be asked and not necessarily in this order.)

*You'll definitely be asked questions related to your subject matter expertise: research methods, case studies, client examples, the psychology behind why/how your recommendations work.

*How is your expertise connected to time management?

*What's a "typical day" like for you?

*What's your best time management tip?

*Can you share a brief overview (two minutes) of your book, product, service, etc.?

*What “pain point” are you addressing?

*How will your book, product, service or tips benefit the viewer/listener?

*What is your hope for your reader, audience, client, etc.?

*How can people reach you?

*What is one action our listeners can take today as soon as this broadcast ends?

I’ll also ask the questions that you submit to me, plus questions will naturally arise during our conversation.

Here are a few examples of our latest podcast episodes using our new format, so you can have an idea of the broad range of topics we cover and the informal conversational style.

If I run out of topical questions (never happened), here are examples of back-up questions:

*What’s a two-minute summary of your first 18 years on earth?

*Have you always worked in this field? If not, what else have you done?

*What are you most proud of?

*What is an important lesson you’ve learned in your professional life?

*What is an important lesson you’ve learned in your personal life?

How will the interview be conducted?

Our conversation will take place via Zoom. Both audio and video will be recorded so it can be shared in a variety of formats on multiple platforms. The background, camera and microphone you use are at your discretion. It’s rare that someone who is not in the media, presentation, or entertainment business has a perfect Zoom studio, so that’s not the expectation. But please keep in mind that if your backdrop is a coffee shop or your sound is scratchy or you’re holding a phone that focuses on your nostrils, that is the image you’ll leave with the viewer/listener.

What should you have within reach during our interview?

*Your device, camera and microphone

*A beverage (mug of coffee or tea, bottle of water, etc. I have conducted chats with a happy hour format, so that is a possibility that can be arranged.)

*Tissue

*Any props you wish to share as part of a story or example - physical white board, digital whiteboard, screen share your platform or example on your screen, physical product, etc.

What happens during the interview?

We’ll be slotted on the calendar for 45 minutes. This will give us a chance to make sure Zoom is functioning properly (you never know when Zoom gremlins will rear their ugly heads!), meet each other, take care of any “housekeeping” details including a sound and camera check, then dive into our conversation. The maximum interview length will be 30 minutes; some don't go the full 30. I’d rather schedule too much time than have to cut it short. (Note: We've experimented with varying lengths, so you might see some longer and some quite shorter if you look through our archives.)

What are the next steps to take if you want to schedule an interview?

  1. Reply to your confirmation email with this completed Guest Information form. Yes, it’s simplistic, but the format (left in Word) makes it easier to copy/paste what we need to promote you. Please return by 3:30 P.M. Central, three business days prior to your interview. (e.g., If interviewing on a Monday, we'll need this by 3:30 PM the Wednesday prior, etc.)
  2. You are more than welcome to share your media kit, but we still need your completed Guest Information form.
  3. THIS HAS BEEN DISABLED UNTIL THERE IS ROOM IN THE SCHEDULE. Use this scheduling link to set up a date and time. You’ll see availability for the upcoming three weeks. If you are traveling when you do this, please double check the time zone you’re scheduling for.
  4. If you have a book or product you’d like me to be at least somewhat familiar with, please aim for it to arrive at least four business days prior to our interview. It can be mailed to:

Helene Segura

1140 S. Laredo St

Suite 830852

San Antonio, TX 78283

5. If you prefer, you can send a link to a synopsis of and table of contents for your book or a link to your product.

6. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please do so at least two business days prior.

What happens after the interview?

By the next business day, you’ll receive a link to an unedited video/audio file to download. Please download it within 14 days. After that, the file will be removed from Zoom storage and will not be retrieved.

On our end, we like to share both the entire interview (edited for intro and outro) as well as excerpts. Depending on our editorial calendar, your full-length interview might be shared via social media platforms as soon as two weeks out but possibly up to six months out. You'll be given an approximate date at the end of our interview.

After your full length interview premieres, excerpts and re-shares of the full interview will be scheduled to post for several months.

Note: New bookings are currently scheduled to publish in April 2026. It's possible to move earlier in the lineup if a podcast guest cancels or we make the decision not to air the recording due to lack of quality content or the guest was attempting an infomerical.

Hopefully you have all of the information you need to prepare for our interview. I look forward to chatting with you!
