Work-Life Balance: The Perfect Ratio for Spritzes

Work-Life Balance: The Perfect Ratio for Spritzes

One of the benefits of improving your time management is that you have more time for fun. One of the things that I like to do for fun is enjoy a spritz.

A lot of different regions in Italy are famous for their own spritzes that they created. Some people think it’s really complex to make one, but guess what? It’s super simple!

Here is the spritz recipe for the secret spritz ratio (or watch the video here):

3:2:1

Ingredients:

3 ounces of dry Prosecco (not the super sweet kind!)

2 ounces of your favorite liqueur

1 ounce of plain sparkling water or club soda

Directions:

Fill your favorite glass with ice.

Pour in your liqueur, then prosecco, and then top with the sparkling water.

A note about the ratio: What I’ve shared with you is traditional. It’s how we learned how to make spritzes while we were traveling in Italy. However, if you’re like my cousin (I’m talking to you, Irene!), you can adjust the ratio to your liking. In her case, it’s 50-50 liqueur and bubbly.

If you don’t have Prosecco, you can always use Cava because that’s a dry sparkling white wine. Really, any sparkling white wine will do. (But please don’t say this around Italians!)

For your liqueur, you can use Aperol for an Aperol Spritz. You could use Limoncello for a Limoncello Spritz. You could use elderflower for a Hugo Spritz (muddle a few mint leaves in the elderflower first before pouring in the bubbly and club soda for a traditional Hugo). Basically, you can use any liqueur that you like.

Enjoy your summer and spritzes!
